Dr James Dodd qualified from King’s College Dental School in 1999, starting his career in Maidstone. In 2004, he moved to Petts Wood, where he worked alongside Chris Prange for 17 years. In 2012, James completed a postgraduate qualification in root canal treatment at the Eastman Dental Institute and managed the majority of in-house referrals for root canal treatments at his previous practice. He has returned more recently to the Eastman Dental Institute for another rigorous programme of study and passed with distinction a Diploma in Restorative Dentistry. He also holds a postgraduate certificate in Implant Dentistry.
This has made James a highly accomplished all-rounder, providing a wide spectrum of treatments from routine cases to comprehensive care, including extensive oral rehabilitation and reconstruction. This can be especially helpful for patients who have had a lot of dentistry over the years. He also has over a decade of experience using lasers to enhance restorative dentistry, particularly with fillings and crowns deep to the gum line.
James believes in offering patients care that is tailored not only to their dental needs but also their personal preferences. He endeavours to provide predictable treatments with a pragmatic approach, aiming for long-term success.
James is a family man, teaching his little ones to be enthusiastic mountain bikers. James has never won a triathlon, but has been on the podium three times, which he considers quite an achievement for a 40+ year-old dentist with a sit-down job. He has also completed over 600 parachute jumps and flies wing-suits over the Kent countryside at the weekends when we get fair summer weather!
