Melissa is a dedicated Dental Hygiene Therapist at Caring Dental. She began her dental career as a Dental Nurse, qualifying in 2016. Driven by her passion for dental care, she continued her education and earned her Diploma in Dental Hygiene and Therapy from King's College Hospital in 2019.
Melissa is particularly keen on treating periodontal disease and enjoys performing Root Surface Debridement. She also likes using Airflow, a gentle cleaning system used in dental treatments, including Guided Biofilm Therapy. It sprays a fine mix of air, water, and a special cleaning powder to remove plaque, stains, and bacteria from your teeth and gums. It's comfortable, effective, and less abrasive than traditional methods, making it ideal for sensitive teeth, braces, or implants.
Melissa takes pride in treating anxious patients and finds it rewarding to see them grow more comfortable with each visit. Melissa is very gentle, especially with anxious patients, and takes a slower approach until they feel comfortable.
Outside of work, Melissa enjoys spending time with her toddler and their newly adopted cat!
Melissa works with us on Wednesday mornings, Thursdays, Fridays, and every other Saturday morning.
She is currently expecting a baby boy, her second child, and will be on maternity leave from January through to the end of April.
